Wow - my life just took a total turnaround.

After spending the weekend down in Queenstown, I suffered an acute gallstone attack during the flight back to Auckland. My girlfriend Vicky drove me to hospital right after the landing and I went into surgery on Monday afternoon. No more public waiting lists, no more acid control medication, no more opiate painkillers, and no more worrying about which meal would be the next to land me in hospital. The nightmare is over. Just like that.

Of course, I now have to recuperate from the surgery and that will take a few weeks. Hopefully I'll be in decent form by next weekend, because IPW will be running a show on Friday, March 3rd in Wellington and I'd like to be at my physical best or near enough to it. The following night, WWE's Smackdown talent will of course be performing to a crowd of 36,000 people at the Westpac Stadium, and who happens to have full media accreditation for the event?

Yup - I've got a golden ticket from WWE to shoot the event from the ringside area. It couldn't get much bigger for a wrestling fan-cum-photographer.

...and in other news, I'm no longer a subscribed member of deviantART. I don't imagine that I'll be renewing my membership anytime soon. In fact, it's much more likely that I'll leave the site altogether and find another outlet for my work, even if I have to put it together myself. I'll have a think about that one.
